I am not your negro (2016) – exceptionally good composed out of Baldwin’s materials. The statements made in the interviews are still powerful and fit the current US / World situation.
The Misandrists (2017) – the Bruce la Bruce film is definitely not a ‘Ferrari la Ferrari’ kind of experience, the better of two Bruce la Bruce films screened at the festival.
Booking tickets for two 70mm roadshow version screenings in one day was not a mistake. This has been / is the full cinematic experience.
If you have the opportunity to watch it from a 70mm film print , Do it!
I could write how good the movie is, but there are many, many reviews on the internet.
The only bad thing : In Europe that they don’t give you a nice paper program, as they do it in the US, but it is the only dislike I have.
Mr CINERAMA FRANCE – François Carrin, the owner of the film projection equipment, gave a nice introduction, showed some film prints and a lens during the intermission, which was a nice addition to the event.
I will watch it few more times in a theatre, and I hope the 70mm copies will be still in circulation for some time.
Thank you Mr Tarantino for one of the best cinematic christmas days ever.
All the reviews praising this movie are bullshi*t, Django Unchained is not great, amazing and terrific, it’s much more than that. If you going to read all the good reviews before attending a screening of Django, you will be expecting a real good movie, and this is not what you gonna get. You will get much much more. The quality of this movie is just indescribable. This is something that you have never seen before (in one movie), this is something that you have always wanted to see in a movie, and this much more that you expect to see in a western (southern). I can confirm that this movie is “fuckin’ battleroyale” or even “fuckin’ battleroaylewithspaghettiandcheese”. It’s like Sergio Leone’s disciple outgrew the master with his skills.
With no hesitation I can say that after watching the movie I have 165 reasons to watch it again (…and again …and again…).
